2006 Moorestown Cross Country
The 2006 Cross Country season was an important season. Our talented MXC 2005 class graduated, and we needed new leaders to emerge - and boy did they! Brendan Banks, Zack Gross and Ted Flick were our Captains for the 2006 season. They provided leadership for the team, and setting the tone for having fun and hard work. Every runner on the team took individual leadership by setting a personal record during the course of the season. This shows the team-wide leadership that is the foundation of our motto - "The strength of the wolf is the pack and the strength of the pack is the wolf." We also had a ton of underclassmen step up to new levels of effort and performance. James Mulski and Ben Friedman swapped turns at taking the lead position on the team. Newcomer Dave Ringwood had a tremendous season. Kevin Healey really came thru at the end of the year with some stand-out performances. Wylie Naylor started very, very strong, and was unfortunately a bit nicked in the middle of the season with a hip injury but still was a Varsity 7 runner all year. Alex Matteson proved that a lot of hard work in the summer can pay off and also finished the year on the Varsity 7. In addition, we have a number of underclassmen that will battle these 6 guys, as well as take Brendan Banks Varsity 7 position next year. Ryan Collier, Micah Friedman, Drew Bos, Ryan Wolff, John Ferry all had outstanding seasons. We also had the formation of the Tri-Scrub Captains this year, with Seniors Jacob Kreimer, Adam Parker and Will Hall demonstrate that this team is founded on the basis of having fun. You can read more in Jacob's great write-up he actually used for college applications! There were a number of newcomers this year, as well as a great freshman class. These are the future of the team - making sure we continue to work hard, have fun and are a TEAM!
